I was lucky enough to have the holiday of a lifetime in New Zealand. One of the Maori symbols that I particularly liked is the Pikorua double twist which represents the joining together of two people or two cultures for eternity. I love the design and the meaning. You find it often carved from Jade in New Zealand.
I decided I would create a version in steel which I have mounted on a piece of flint.
The sculpture is galvanised to protect against rust and finished with an acid wash.
Its stands 1100mm tall and is 300mm wide.
